Animal well-being is our No.1 priority

Vetx Research was the first contract research organisation in Australasia to gain accreditation from AAALAC.

AAALAC accreditation

AAALAC accreditation

AAALAC - the Association for the Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International, is an organisation that has been championing excellence in animal care for over 50 years. AAALAC is a global non-profit organisation that promotes the care and welfare of laboratory animals - "AAALAC International is where science and responsible animal care connect".

By voluntarily applying for accreditation by AAALAC, Vetx Research has undergone a rigid auditing process to ensure all operations and animal care practices meet global standards. This included a comprehensive three day site visit by independent, international experts in animal welfare.

To maintain accreditation, Vetx Research must follow the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory animals (NRC), an additional layer of guidance literature to accompany the Australian Code for the Care and Use of Animals for Scientific Purposes (NHMRC).
